On the 4th of May 2014, my office organised our first breast cancer screening in Block 4, 5 & 6 of Desa Mentari in conjunction with the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA). Our target was to screen 75 women from all three blocks, but we received an overwhelming response and were able to screen 150 women. While the screenings were taking place, my team processed welfare requests from residents in the area. We plan to continue carrying out breast cancer screenings as often as possible in the low income communities of our constituency.
