The TPPA caucus, 2 from BN and 3 from Opposition met up with the US Trade Ambassador Froman and Ambassador Yun yesterday. Charles Santiago, Nurul Izzah and I represented the Opposition.
We asked him a wide range of questions and Mr. Froman gave answers. He then asked us some questions and we stated our positions. This is probably the 4th meeting with him to date and the dialogue is improving with familiarity.
The Opposition is still opposed to the TPPA in principle. We are for free BUT fair trade. We will make an informed decision after we get the texts, economic data and cost-benefit documents. The TPPA may conclude as early as the end of the month.
