Welfare Month: Day One

What a day, our first day of Bulan Kebajikan and we did 60 applications for welfare. At the peak, just before lunch we had 18 people in the office. New interns Paul Mae and Leann, and our guest Intan, did exceptionally well in handling the applicants. It is important to professionally deal with applicants without losing composure when applicants recount their stories of hardship. I had a chat with an old grandma who is struggling to meet ends meet, and recently saddled with two young grandkids who were abandoned by their irresponsible parents.
